I figured I would blog about the past 8 month's of my pregnancy. It has been wonderful for the most part. In the beginning I knew I was pregnant even though every doctor I saw said otherwise. It took 4 months for a doctor to finally come to realize I was pregnant. I know that sound's odd...it did to me as well, but for some reason I wasn't showing up on a test.
This is my third pregnancy. I have two daughters. Madison will be 6 in April and Savannah will be 3 in May. I had a rough time during my first pregnancy and had a easy time with the second. This one has been a mixture of both. More so easy than bad. I had moment's where I forgot I was pregnant till the baby moved or my husband made mention of the baby.
It's funny how you can not have a allergy to something until you get pregnant. I had to find out the hard way I had a pregnant allergy to a medicine. I went to the ER with a severe case of the stomach flu. So with me being pregnant and violently hurling they gave me Phenegren. BAD IDEA. I threw up twice as much and twice as haard. I broke out into a rash, anxiety hit me hard and all they did was give me more. They failed to see the signs I was allergic...I couldnt really tell them what was wrong because I was out of it. To make thing's worse the nurse I had was rude. She wiggled my IV..
Here I am at 33 weeks and 3 days as of 3-9-10. My birthday! I got to spend my birthday in the hospital because I had painful cramping and pressure in the lower part of my stomach. It was nothing serious other than Braxton Hicks. Thankfully. They did a ultrasound to check the baby. At this point we had no idea what we were having. The baby refused to spread the legs so the dr could tell if it was a boy or girl. So we asked the tech if she could tell..Of course leave it to my child to be stubborn. The legs were semi-closed and she couldnt really tell. She said she was almost positive we were having a girl. Both my husband and I were shocked because we thought I would be having a boy due to the way I was caring. So we started getting use to the idea of a girl.
I went to my regular doctor's appointment on the 22nd of March. I was dil. to almost 2 cent. and 60 % effaced. Which excited me because the baby's head was dropped down low and she's in place. Everything looked good. My OB made me get a flu shot. I had put it off for so long. I am so not a needle person. She also gave me another sugar test. You know the one I am talking about the nasty glucose test. Well some women think it tasts good, but not me. It always makes me sick. I threw up all in her office about 2 hours later. My poor doctor.
Ok, here I am at 36 weeks and 4 days (3-24-10) and since monday night, two nights ago, I have had severe chest pains. I waited for it to go away, but it never did. It didnt get worse. It just stayed the same. I waited for my OB to get in her office, but around 6 am I gave in and called the Labor and delivery floor at my local hospital and they called my doctor. She told me to go on in. I got checked out. They ran a million tests on me to determine what was causing my chest pain. They ruled out heart attack and a blood clot. They hooked me to every machine possible. I sat there and was put through all these tests just to have the ER doctor on duty to tell me it was acid refluxheartburn. Well first of all it wasn't. I would think that after 2 previous pregnancies and be dealing with heartburn during the course of this one I would know what it felt like. He didnt wanna listen. So he sent me to my doctor, who hooked me to yet another machine. I forgot what it is called, but the one that detects babies heartbeat and contractions. I was having constant contractions, all not close enough to count or strong enough but none the less contractions. She told me pretty much what I thought it was. Anxiety, stress, contractions and the fact that her feet are under my ribs. So I was given nerve pills and the chest pain has went away.
