eyesEyesThe retinas of the eyes appear as dark spots, and the eyelid folds are beginning to form around them.
heart bulgeHeart BulgeThe little heart bulges out from the chest in the earliest stages of development, but it will move into the body as the baby grows. The tiny heart is pumping at a rate of 90 to 110 beats per minute.
arms & legsArms and LegsElbows and knees are present, and the beginnings of finger and toes appear as small bumps on the pads of the hands and feet.
What's happening this week:
Your baby is the size of a kidney bean, with visible retinas, ears and nose. A bulge of intestine is becoming the umbilical cord, and the little limbs are developing into their different parts. By now, many organs are beginning to function and the embryo can make sporadic movements.
