 Week 12
Your Baby:
By the end of this week of pregnancy, your baby will be about 2 1/2 inches in length and will weigh about 14 grams. If you visit your doctor after this week, you'll most likely be able to hear your baby's heartbeat with a Doppler; not a stethoscope.
Your baby has the ability to swallow and discharge fluids. His or her fingers and toes have separated; the hands are now complete and fingernails are growing. Your baby's face now has a distinctively human appearance and hair is starting to appear on his or her body. More below:
Changes in You:
You may find that you feel more comfortable in loose-fitting clothes and possibly maternity clothes, especially if this isn't your first pregnancy. Your morning sickness may be getting better, although some women suffer well into the second trimester.
