Romance after Baby

How to get that flicker burning, again! Take full advantage of baby's naptime. That is, if you're not napping yourselves because baby has her days and nights mixed up! At the very least, nap together with your partner, even if you're not in the mood to do anything beyond cuddling. Enjoy the extra cuddle time!

Move Out of the Bedroom

If you're worried about waking baby, venture elsewhere. You don't have to keep it just in the bedroom. This is a great time to try a new position. Try a candle-lit bubble bath together. Have fun and be adventurous like at the beginning of your marriage! More below:

Be Flirty and Playful

Try sending your partner flirty e-mails or text messages. Leave little love notes for your partner to discover. Leave a suggestive voicemail on your partner's cell phone. Dig out the lingerie from the bottom of the drawer. Flirtation and playfulness can get those flames burning.

Be Loving and Appreciative

Give each other backrubs or a shoulder massage. Kiss your partner passionately out-of-the-blue such as in the kitchen or at the grocery store. Hug and embrace your partner. Be tender, affectionate and give compliments. Say "thank you" and do small acts to show your appreciation. These things can go a long way, especially after a long tiring day!

Get Away Together

Leave baby with grandma or a trusted babysitter and spend time together; just the two of you. Even a romantic overnight getaway, if possible. If an overnight trip is out of the question, at least drop baby off for a few a hours and go out for dinner. Don't talk about anything stressful such as finances or childcare. Just enjoy each other's company. Or how about simply staying home, the two of you, and sneak in some alone time to get back in touch with each other?

Communication

Take the time to talk. Talk in bed at the end of the day or during a stroll though the park (with stroller in hand, of course). It's very important to set aside at least 20 minutes every day to talk about things that are non-baby related. Keep in mind that communication involves both talking and listening. Good communication makes all the difference in the world!
